Gayatri Mantra &
the 12 sacred Nights

Receiving the sacred

I have decided to make a fusion, a Sadhana* dedicated to two very important rituals, prayers in my life, The 12 Sacred Nights and the Gayatri Mantra - and this year, I invite you to join me.

For many years, I have been deeply surrendered to Mother Gayatri and to The 12 Sacred Nights. Gayatri is a practice I live in, while the 12 Sacred Nights, from Christmas to Epiphany, have been my heartfelt ritual at the turn of the year, for the past 20 years.

To me, they mark a special time to honor the life I get to live, and the preparation for my soul, my personality, my whole being's realization in a very specific way - a way to come to know my true nature more deeply.

Let's meet in this this sacred time of the year, and deepen the knowing of our True nature, Together.

The 12 sacred nights

A sacred ritual

The 12 Sacred Nights is such a dear and sacred ritual that invokes deep healing and clarity. As if my soul has a say in my life, from a place where my mind is not interfering. As if my soul is predicting a horoscope or a path into the year ahead, unfolding from the prayers that are opened every night.

We surrender to the remembrance of Christ consciousness, the True Nature in all of us - in you and me. As Rudolf Steiner so beautifully says about the nights:

- "On these nights, the darkest of the year, we are closest to the Sun's Spirit and this means that the Spiritual Sun shining from inside the Earth makes it translucent and illuminates everything from the inside, not as it is afterwards when the Sun illuminates the Earth from above, from the outside."

No experience needed

You don’t need any experience with either the 12 Sacred Nights or the Gayatri Mantra to take part in this Sadhana. As the online portal opens in the beginning of December, you will have access to further material about both, and can start preparing for this 23-day Sadhana. And even if you have been with the 12 Holy Nights many times over, every year is different, exactly because you are in a different place in your life, and as Rudolf Steiner says:

”The nights are about receiving, not predicting; what we have understood and received in The 12 Sacred Nights, we must now bring into life and spiritualize matter and soul."

The Gayatri Mantra

An auspicious mantra

The Gayatri Mantra is one of the most sacred mantras, as ShantiMayi says about this prayer:

“To chant the Gayatri Mantra purifies the chanter, to listen to the Gayatri Mantra purifies the listener.
This sacred prayer spirals out through the entire universe from the heart of the chanter, appealing for peace and divine wisdom for all.”

Gayatri is a holy and auspicious Mantra in the Vedic tradition dedicated to Goddess Gayatri, who is the mother of the Vedas. The Vedas are holy and sacred scriptures in India. This Mantra, this prayer, is what we call a universal mantra, a universal prayer, which means the mantra is for all of us, regardless of where we are rooted, or who we are.

We can invoke the remembrance of our true nature through Mother Gayatri. It is like being granted access to the truth beyond the truth, and to a healing realization so deep that it cannot be spoken.

Mother Gayatri

*Sadhana meaning:

Ultimately, sadhana is described as a daily spiritual effort that transforms ordinary life into a path of awakening, aiming to align the individual’s consciousness with universal truth or the divine.

*Japa refers to the meditative repetition of a mantra or divine name.
